Peanut Farming with Teflon Ron
A paper I wrote for PSC 329 - The Modern American Presidency, in which I analyzed President Carter and Reagan's relationships to their constituents and their adherence to the principle of "strategic competence." Strategic competence, as argued by Paul Quirk, is the president's ability to appoint effective and knowledgeable advisory staff, and most importantly, listen to them. Carter failed at this, while Reagan excelled. The paper was my best writing in the class, and reflects my abilities of political analysis. Read it below.
